More than 1,400 people attended our 2nd Annual Susie's Cause Free Indianapolis Outreach Health Festival on Saturday, July 29, at Circle Centre Mall, a 50 percent increase in turnout from last year! Great thanks to our partners at Eskenazi Health, Cancer Support Community Central Indiana, and Community Health Network, along with all the other agencies that attended.

Here's a recap of some of the day's highlights:

Community Health Network had extensive colorectal cancer educational materials, including an educational video and information on screenings.

Thanks to Eskenazi Health for providing translators to connect with the Spanish-speaking festival attendees!

The Crafter's Corner table, courtesy of Cancer Support Community Central Indiana, was a big hit with young and old alike. Everyone loved the healthy snack and appreciated the local community resource materials.

MDwise provided insurance materials and treated everyone to a special visit from Blue Belle, its mascot. It also graciously provided a yummy Subway lunch for our wonderful volunteers!

The American Cancer Society provided excellent educational materials.

The Marion County Public Health Department promoted Indy in Motion, a free total-fitness and health program.

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis shared information about its community programs.

Indianapolis City Market served up some tasty samples.

Little Red Door Cancer Agency provided its own educational materials.

Boomer, the official mascot of the Indiana Pacers, was animated, athletic, and adored by all!

Jerry Porter and Susie's Cause's own Ralph Magwood did a fabulous job recruiting diverse talent for the festival. Everyone enjoyed the dynamic entertainment, fitness demonstration by the Young at Heart Senior Line Dancers, and great giveaways.

Many thanks to Circle Centre Mall, a perfect venue for the festival!

Thank you, Indianapolis! We had a great time sharing a healthy day with you for the second straight year!
