We were thrilled to welcome 1,443 visitors to our 2nd Annual Susie's Cause Free Troy Outreach Health Festival on Saturday, August 26, at Oakland Mall in Troy, Michigan.

Great thanks to our festival co-hosts at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Jessica Daniel was truly our "super star" of the day, acting as a wonderful liaison to several of the other health agencies. She provided great educational displays for cancer care, along with a nutrition exhibit including portion control information and yummy healthy snack samples.

Karmanos gastroenterologist Dr. Anteneh Tesfaye spoke with festival-goers throughout the day, while breast cancer program specialist JoMeca Thomas provided her own vital health information.

The Oakland County Health Division offered free blood pressure screenings and had terrific educational materials about healthy lifestyles. In collaboration with the Henry Ford Health System, it also offered free fecal immunochemical test (FIT) kits to festival attendees.

Genentech's giant inflatable colon was a big hit with everyone and a fabulous educational tool.

Judith Manza of the South Oakland Family YMCA conducted an energetic Zumba demonstration, while other staff promoted the fitness activities that the local YMCA offers.

Ghada Aziz of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services educated individuals about the organization, its mission, and services.

Harbor Health Plan discussed insurance needs with attendees and had great giveaways.

Staff from the Detroit Community Health Connection provided information about its services, while staff from the medical lifestyle television show "Ask Dr. Nandi" also stopped by the festival to chat with attendees.

Henry Ford College's WHFR 89.3 FM, which had produced and aired a great public service announcement promoting the festival, handed out nice giveaways.

Andre Archer and Ralph Magwood did a fantastic job recruiting diverse talent for the festival, and all who attended enjoyed the dynamic entertainment.

Many thanks to Oakland Mall, the perfect venue for the festival, and its incredible staff.

Thank you, Troy! We had a great time sharing a healthy day with you!
